History & Heritage Club, UAP organized a day-long Study Tour to Panam City and Sonargaon

 

History & Heritage Club, UAP organized a day-long Study Tour to Panam City and Sonargaon, Narayanganj in association with Department of Basic Sciences & Humanities on 19 July 2019.

Panam City, situated in Sonargaon, Narayanganj is an ancient historical city of Bangladesh. There are many historical buildings which were built centuries ago and are related to the history of Baro-Bhuyan.

Students also visited the Folk Art Museum which was established in Sonargaon in 1975 by Shilpacharya Joynul Abedin. The museum exhibits wooden crafts, brass, bamboo and metal crafts, painted work, musical instruments, pottery, textiles, ornaments and much more.

Total 60 students from different departments participated in the study tour. They learnt about the society of medieval Bengal especially in Mughal period. Mr. A. S. M. Mohsin, Assistant Professor of History and adviser of History and Heritage Club, UAP coordinated the tour. The tour was also attended by some of the faculty members of Department of Basic Sciences & Humanities including Assistant Professor Layeqa Bashir.
